SlidePalPrivacy Policy

SlidePal ("we," "us") helps you see who's nearby and message them. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using SlidePal you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account. You sign in with Apple. Depending on your choices, this gives us a name and an email (which may be Apple's private relay address).
- Profile. The username, name, photos, gender, birthday (used to show your age), emoji interests, and any social media handles (such as Snapchat, Instagram, or TikTok) you choose to add.
- Location. Your approximate location, used to show you people nearby and to center the map. We do not share your precise location with other users.
- Messages. The messages you send and receive in the app.
- Device. A push notification token and basic device information so we can deliver notifications and keep the app running.
How we use it
- To show you people near you and to show your profile to others nearby.
- To let you message people and receive messages.
- To send notifications you've opted into, such as new messages.
- To keep the app working, prevent abuse, and respond to reports.
What other people can see
When you're discoverable, people near you can see your profile, photos, and any social handles you've added. People you message can see your messages. You choose what goes on your profile, and you can edit or remove it at any time.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that run the app on our behalf:
- Google Firebase for authentication, database, storage, and notifications.
- Apple for Sign in with Apple and push notifications.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
Your choices
- Location. You can turn off location access in your device settings, though discovery won't work without it.
- Block and report. You can block or report anyone from their profile.
- Delete your account. Go to Settings → Delete Account in the app, or email us. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, photos, and messages.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your profile, photos, and messages. Limited records may be retained where required for legal or safety reasons.
Children
SlidePal is intended for people 17 and older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll remove it.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll change the date above when we do, and significant changes will be reflected in the app or on this page.
